The importance of being a flatmate

Finding accommodation for your study abroad will be one of the most essential parts of your stay. You may think your environment doesn´t affect you. But have you ever tried to stay in an empty flat with growing mould, cheap half-working furniture, a toaster with burnt insides, and rude flatmates? Fortunately, that´s not the case (except for the toaster; I´m really concerned about my cancer prospects). Don´t take me wrong, living in dorms is not a five-star hotel, and there will be times when you´ll be annoyed. But it´s part of the university charm.
I´m staying at Castle Court, provided by Unite Students, and so far, I´m content. My flatmates clean up after themselves, we never argue, and one of them has become a close friend of mine. Sippin´ and spillin´ tea with her brighten up every lousy day. Living in dorms is a hazard because you can never tell if you´ll be lucky enough to experience the bright side of shared accommodation. Everybody excepts to be living his version of F.R.I.EN.D.S., and they end up disappointed. I appreciate Castle Court staff hosting events like Cookie Day, Quiz Night, Mocktail Party, etc. This way, you can meet other residents. For example, I became good friends with residents living across the hall. Now, I can make my own pizza, thanks to them! You can never know what possibilities lie ahead of you.
Love,
Book and Tea Girl
